I was not sure if this was possible - my spouse is currently covered under my health plan and I am planning on leaving the company. I am perfectly healthy and would prefer to buy my own health coverage while I transition to another career. However, my wife is pregnant and we will have to use COBRA to cover her until the baby is born. The plan administrator did not know if this was possible:

Can I elect to decline coverage for me and continue coverage for my spouse?
