In Reply to: Kudzu? What is it? posted by Kristin on March 01, 2003 at 16:28:14:
: I am currently volunteering in a medical study that will require me to take kudzu supplements for two weeks. Does anyone know what this is or what it is used for? Are there any side effects? Please help!
wow, I find it rather interesting that you would volunteer to take something that you have no idea what it is or what it is for or possible side effects (????) But hey.....tis 'your' life :-)
I found this definition in the dictionary but not sure it is exactly what you will be taking. I would surely advise you talk to the clinic that you are volunteering for and ask them for pamphlet or more information regarding this substance.
Kudzu: Asian vine and agricultural weed: a hardy vine from eastern Asia that has compound leaves, purplish flowers, and roots that contain a nourishing starch used medicinally. It was introduced into the United States to stop the erosion of the soil in the South, but now grows out of control. Latin name Pueraria lobata.
This is a website I found by doing a search for 'kudzu'. Not sure if this will help but I would advise you doing a search for kudzu yourself and read up on it as much as possible.
