Well, I do believe there is no amount of time you have to be employed to be covered. I would look at it more like 'were you insured by your employer before you left the company?' Some companies have a waiting period to be eligible for their health insurance benefits. If you were eligible and covered by the company's insurance then you should be eligible for COBRA.
