My husband quit his job back in August of last year. His employeer did not give him a cobra notice, so he did not sign a notice accepting, or decline the cobra insurance. His ex-employer paid for one extra month insurance premium. Eventhough my husband did not sign anything stating he wanted continuation. His ex-employer is now trying to bill us, and has threatened to turn this over to collections if it is not paid. Can they leavally do this?
