when you state you signed up for COBRA then you must have received the COBRA notice telling you about the cost and when payments need to be made or are due??? If not, then how did you sign up for COBRA?

As far as payments go once you are signed up with COBRA that is your total responsibility and employers or ins carriers do NOT have to send you notices or billing statements for your payments. Some might do it out of courtesy, however there is no law that they do. You MUST pay on your own if you received nothing from them.

Normally payments are due the 1st of each month with a 30 day grace period.

I am a bit confused. You state you signed up for COBRA. If so did you not make a payment with it when you sent the forms back? There is a grace period that you can make the payment, however I am just curious if when you signed up, however you did, did it not show your premium amt and what you wanted to elect as far as coverage?
