It would be very rare if your COBRA coverage would take affect outside of the state you started in. You will need to contact your ex employer or the insurance carrier (same company you had when you worked there) and ask them.

If it is a very large insurance company that covers in multiple states and the one you happen to be moving to then you will probably be okay. BUT if your insurance will not cover you in that state you are SOL without insurance coverage. If they dont cover in the state you are moving to your only option (if you can't get coverage elsewhere) is to drive to California for all of you doctor and hospital visits. (sad but true)
Good luck!

: I am moving out of state from California to Las Vegas, Nevada (still unemployed). I have 3 more months of COBRA coverage left. Will moving out of state cancel my COBRA coverage? Will my PPO (Cigna) still cover me? Will I be able to get other kinds of coverage after my COBRA expires in June 2003?
