I am from Beijing, and have an uncle who was treated successfully for alcoholism and depression with a combination of herbs, including kudzu. I don't know how it would affect a person who is not an alcoholic, though. I would try to contact the FDA, but I'm pretty sure it's only approved for experimental treatment in the U.S.
