COBRA is the right to keep the same coverage that you had before you left your old job. Employer needs 20 or more employees to have to provide COBRA.

Gnerally COBRA ends when you get coverage from a new plan. Get the old plan's booklet (summary plan description) and look at the rules.

Other than calling a lawyer to make an appointment for a consultation to discuss your particular circumstances always ask for information in writing via certified mail return receipt requested.

: 1. Is there a minimum amount of hours and/or days that you need to work with a company in order to receive COBRA?

: 2. If someone left there job with a company that they had worked at for several years for a new position that has very expensive health coverage could the old company still offer COBRA under any circumstances?

: 3. Is there a number I can call to get more specific information?

: Thanks.
