On Mar 4, I was informed that COBRA had terminated my coverage on Jan 26, 2003. Here's the issue. Do I have any recourse?

I mailed ontime payment for Dec-Jan in Dec. COBRA payment was increased by $25 beginning with the Jan payment, which I was unaware of when I made the Dec-Jan payment. My February payment was postmarked Feb 28, well within the grace period (ends 3-29-03). The problem is that the grace period for the additional $25 for January ended 2-26-03.

Basically, they terminated my coverage because the additional $25 Jan payment was late by 2 days. What can I do to be reinstated?

I called COBRA and talked to a supervisor but she was not helpful. "These are the rules, and there are no exceptions."
