I quit my job on February 11, 2003. I was given my last paycheck with a deduction of several hundred dollars to cover my cost of health insurance for the rest of the month and was informed that i was covered until february 28, 2003. I went to a doctor on Feb. 14th and tried to pick up a prescription on Feb. 19th and was told that my insurance had been cancelled. i called the insurance company and was told that the entire groups policy had been cancelled on december 31, 2002 due to non-payment. My bosses had put in a request for re-instatement but had yet to pay the money due. I had my lawyer write a letter to the employer asking for my money back that i had paid all through january and all of february. Then i found out that the company did pay the insurance company. ( It is now over a month later.) Since they reinstated their policy, I am told by the insurance company that i will not be able to get any money back. Is this legal?!?!?
