When my company closed its doors I was under the impression that I was covered thru 8/02 and that payment was needed by 9/1.
As I paid the coverage in August 2002 I believed that all of my payments were on time if not early.
On March 11th, my Cobra provider ADP TotalSource notified me that our coverage was terminated on 1/31/03. Of course my wife elected to have numerous tests done in February. Upon further checking our insurer was never notified nor were we until 6 weeks after.
Is ADP required to notify us within a reasonable time that we are no longer covered and can the insurer apply this retroactively to payments and approvals of payment already made?
