My insurance coverage ran out on January 31 and I elected COBRA coverage on Feb. 7. I accidentally failed to make the necessary payment within my 45 day time frame so my COBRA coverage was cancelled. However, today was the 60th day since termination of my coverage so can I re-elect COBRA? The HR person was not in the office today but I went and signed all of the necessary paperwork AND handed in a check for the 3 months of COBRA coverage in hopes that when she returns tomorrow, we'll be square. Am I right?
