: My wife is paralyzed as a result of a severe stroke. We need to downsize financially to an affordable area to survive. The HMO says that if we move from the HMO covered area that they will charge my wife $1805. per month for insurance coverage. Is this legal? I can't find an answer to this and we are at the point of desperation as to how we are going to live on a limited income.
