I live in New Jersey, my age is 67 years and I am on a Cobra plan that ends 9-15-03. I currently have Medicare Part A and this week called Social Security to sign-up for Part B; to my dismay they said I was not entitled to the "special enrollment period", so now I have to wait until July 2004 for coverage! I was ignorant of the law by misunderstanding the process. Now my problem is my wife and I will transfer back into my company's medical plan, however, my plan is a medi-gap plan co-odinated with Medicare Part A & B; how will my not having Part B until next year affect my status with my company's plan? I assume I will be responsible for Medicare's Part B charges if they occur except for the "caps" covered by my company plan. Please advise if I am correct.
Thanks, John
