Apply for a HIPAA guaranteed-issue health plan for those 15 days. Once she gets onto the new group plan, she can drop the HIPAA plan if she likes. HIPAA guarantees she can get individual coverage once COBRA expires and, since it is in essence simply guaranteed-issue individual health insurance, she can opt to be on it for any length of time she chooses.

: My fiancee has Cobra that expires June 15, 2003 after 18 months. She is currently receiving treatment/diagnosis for an illness. She has a new job but the insurance doesn't kick in until July 1, 2003.
: Is there anyway to extend Cobra benefits for 15 days, since she is already receiving treatment? We don't want to halt treatment/dianosis for 15 days.
: Isn't there a law that allows her to keep Cobra past 18 months for existing illness?
