I seriously doubt they have time to play games, most employers are just disorganized. And even if they weren't the law only requires them to notify you within 44 days of your termination or loss of health coverage. And that might be extended beyond the 14- and 30-day requirements if allowed by plan rules. Also you are required to notify the plan administrator, since you resigned, and it sounds like you already may have but i would be sure.

COBRA information also is required to be contained in the summary plan description (SPD) which participants receive. Plan administrators must automatically furnish the SPD booklet 90 days after a person becomes a participant or beneficiary begins receiving benefits or within 120 days after the plan is subject to the reporting and disclosure provisions of the law.

: I informed my old employer on 24th may that i'm resigning from the company and want to go to COBRA.They told me that I would get all paperwork within 15 days. Now as of 6/1/03 they cancelled my insurance and I have still not received any COBRA document. Now my wife need to go for pre natal check up for her pregnancy. So what should I do. It looks like company might be delaying purposfully to harass me or it is really getting dealyed. In the meantime can I go to doctor.
