coverage might be monthly.

Ask your health plan administrator if you only have coverage for two weeks. Of course, you don't need to elect COBRA at all, unless you have a claim, and then you would be reimbursed retroactivly anyone, any time during the enrollment period (60 days of when the forms are sent).
