My wife and I are considering applying for COBRA through her
most recent job. I read through the text of the law and just wanted to
make sure I understand the "ELECTION" section. It seems to say that my
wife and I have 60 days to decide whether we want it or not and that we
can wait to enroll until we need the insurance. Say for instance I need
immediate medical treatment during that 60 days while we are still
elligible but have not yet enrolled, my wife and I could enroll at that
point and the treatment would be covered under COBRA retroactively even
after the medical service has been rendered. Is this correct? Thank
you. Sincerely, Jason Gebhardt
