As long as you don't get 2 months in arrears, you can use your grace period as a cushion. Once you have overlapping due COBRA payments, then your insurance is canceled.
You can risk it and go 3 weeks without insurance, I myself went over 30 years without it.

: recently was hired at a company that told me i had benefits
: effective immediately. I didn't pay my july cobra bill and now i found
: out that it takes thirty days for my benefits to actually kick in.
: Tomorrow is the 1st of July. I have three weeks until my other coverage
: starts. Should i pay my cobra insurance for July? and if i do will i
: get reinbursed for the last week in July? or is there a grace period,
: for example 30 days where if something happened i would just make the
: payment and still be covered instead of paying now and losing money? or
: is there nothing that i could do and just not have insurance for three
: weeks? and if i have to pay by tomorrow can i call up and leave a credit
: card number? Please advise.
