We found ourselves in a similar position and have been able to use COBRA. However, this is a mixed blessing: my (non-professional) understanding is that the insurance companies in your new state would be forced, despite your "pre-exisiting condition", to give you coverage if you did not have access to COBRA. However, since you do, you are effectively forced to use COBRA: an expensive position to be in, at least for us. Best of luck /Fin
: Currently, I am working in GA with insurance coverage and my wife is 14 weeks pregnant. But I received a job offer that I cannot refuse from CA. Due to my wife's pregnency, no one will be accepting my wife, I was told by insurance broker in CA. Once I leave my current job, am I eligible for COBRA even in new state? Please, advise.
