I am going to be changing jobs at the end of the month. My health benefits from my current employer will end on 8/31. My benefits from my new company will not begin until 10/3 (they have a 30-day waiting period).
I understand that I DO NOT have to sign up for Cobra coverage since there is a 60-day "grace period" for sign up. I was told that I could elect to pay for Cobra benefits even AFTER something happened and it would still be covered. I cover myself, my wife, and my 2 kids (3 & 5) on my benefits.
I am anxious to hear your opinion on the matter. Thank you in advance.
