Hi Craig, no the premium was not disclosed. All we received was the form to fill out for cobra. Did you happen to read my first post about premiums and due dates?? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.

Today however, I finally received in writing what is due and how much. It states we owe for the 2 months of retro for the old plan and one month for the new plan that started August 1st. It also states that the next premium for September 1st is due next week because they have to make the payments to the insurance company by the end of the month for the following month of coverage. How does the 30 day grace period apply to this? I'm positive the human resources lady is not aware we have a grace period, so I want to be positive of when our payment should be due before I bring it up. Is there a website you can direct me to that describes the 30 day grace period. I have found much info on cobra but nothing in detail about having a 30 day grace period. I would like to print it and mail the employer a copy. Thanks

Dawn

: The price of the coverage must be disclosed in the COBRA notice that was sent out to you.
: You got no premium amount to pay?

: : Also, our 45 days after the date we elected is rapidly coming. Is the employer required to send us a bill? I have contacted them twice in the past two weeks and I still have no bill. The lady gave me a "figure" last week and I told her to send it all to me in writing and I would send the check asap. I called back Friday and she said she would send that day and still nothing. I would love nothing more than to pay them but the fact still remains that they aren't sure how much I even need to pay. I don't feel comfortable sending a payment when I don't have it in writing what I am paying for. I will call again this Friday if I still haven't gotten anything, but are they legally required to send my a bill or is a verbal conversation sufficient? Thanks.
