7/31/03, since that is the date of the qualifying event. As long as he timley signs up for cobra and pays, they will reimburse.

: My brother was terminated from his job (no groaa misconduct) on 7/1/03. His coverage ended on 7/31/03. It is now 8/21. The ins. co directs him to the empoyer and vice versa when he calls to inquire about COBRA. Do they have 44 days from 7/1 (termination) or 7/31 (end of coverage)? Also, can he get reimbursed for medical expenses that he is incurring now, before he gets COBRA?
