Yes the health plan can be increased twice per year. Sadly, health care cost are a disaster, skyrocketing. My blue cross prudent buyer plan went up 40% in a year.

: I began paying for Cobra from my former employer on June 1. Less than two months later my employer sent me a note saying that it would be DOUBLING the monthly payment I must make from about $175 per month to nearly $400 per month. It is a huge increase and I find it hard to believe that the company suddenly discovered that the health insurance costs twice as much as they just me just a few months ago. Is this normal procedure or are Cobra rates going up everywhere? Also, is there any way I can confirm the increase in the cost of my health insurance WITHOUT having to speak with my former employer? Finally, I'd like to speak to an expert on this issue, if anyone has one to suggest. Thanks and regards.
