I've been on SSD for 14 months and a Cobra plan which I understand to expire 04/2004 (18 months total). Can I get Cobra extented through my previous employer to 36 months or longer being disabled and on SSD? If so, how? .....or am I forced to stop Cobra after so many months of being on SSD and rerouted to Medicare? Big concern: Cobra covers most of my medication and my upcoming surgeries, Medicare would not.
