Wow, someone that has the same luck I do! For $289,000 I would definetley consult an attorney and the dept of labor. They are supposed to give you 30 days grace period. Were you 18 days past the grace period due date?

The good news is that there are no debtors prisons in the US.

: Somehow I missed a payment and on June 17 we had a ten week early (preme) baby I called on the 17 and told them where i was and what was happening with my wife and they said they would send a notice that my coverage was cancled.I sent a check that same day and hoped it would slip by and not cause all these problems. Now i seem to be up the creek as the bills are nearly 300,000 dollars and climbing. I am in Georgia and would think they would have to let me know before something like this happens. What if the check got lost in the mail?
