I have cobra benifits and Blue Cross Of California PPO, covered through BC Life and Health is my carrier. I moved to Washington and now am questioning if I can transfer my Blue Cross California cobra to the BC Life and Health they have here in Washington? I was told I could use the ER if necessary as i still have not changed my permanent address from California but that if I wish to have regular health care here, that I would no longer receive any benifits as "Blue Cross of California" just covers Californians. I had thought Blue Cross could be used for nation wide coverage. I have also read on this site, that alternative coverage must be made available as long as it does not incur extraordinary costs to the former employer. I just need to know who to contact for a final answer to these questions before I make any futher changes as I can not afford to lose my heathcare now. Thank you so much...
