You may be referring to a California law that allows seniors to extend coverage up to 5 years (SB 761) or in some cases up to 8 or more years for surviving spouses and former spouses (SB 2043).

: I have never heard about this, COBRA deals with minimums, not maximums. I suppose if an employer wanted to, and the carrier didn't mind and id didn't violate their agreement, it's possible, but not probable.
