I practice in California, and your HIPAA guidelines are completely incorrect. You lack the necessary funds for a transfer account from New York to California; furthermore, as California Penal Code 2.2.35.621 states, you will be criminally charged with fraud if you choose to move from NY to CA. Just trying to help.

We are planning to become legally separated and I am planning to move to California. I am sure that my COBRA here in New York State does not extend to California, unless I am misled. The HIPAA guidelines state that one is not eligible for HIPAA unless he or she has exhausted his or her COBRA benefits. It seems as if I am between a rock and a hard place here. Does anybody have any experience with this type of situation? I am not disabled and plan to go back to work once I have moved. I just need to have insurance and Rxs for a few months. Thanks for any suggestions.
