My employer is changing health care providers beginning January 1, 2004. At the same time, I am leaving the company effective December 31, 2003. My new employer has a 30 day waiting period before I can enroll in his health plan.
Can I enroll in Cobra, and if so, do I get my old employers original coverage (Cigna), or their new provider (Kaiser)?
Can anyone help answer this? I need to do something quickly, as I can't afford my family to be without coverage for a month.
