An employer must give a 30 day grace period. If payment is not sent within that 30 day period, then they can cancel for non-payment.

Example - Payment is due on the first of each covered month, so payment for November is due Nov 1. With the 30 day grace, you really have until Dec 1 to get the check sent. Note, it is based on postmark, not receipt. So I always wait a couple days after the grace period to make sure it wasn't sent on time.

I hope that helps.
