I am entitled to 29 months of Cobra coverage, due to having a disabled child. My former employer indicated that it is okay with them if my Cobra coverage continues indefinitely beyond the 29 months, as long as I continue to send them the monthly checks in a timely manner. Does my medical insurance company have the right to prohibit this Cobra extension beyond the 29 months. If they do, is there anything that I can do to overturn their decision?
