I have been obtaining my medical coverage thru COBRA for over the last several months. Recently, my ex-employer changed their benefits, but I was NOT notified of this change. Just the bill from the plan administrator - received 3 days before the coverage change.

Shouldn't I legally have been informed of the benefit changes within the same timeframe as employees? I could not find any info on what my rights are about this.

Now my COBRA coverage has dropped the HMO plan I was under (and that I wanted to continue with) and placed me in the company's default PPO plan. So how was I supposed to let them know what coverage I wanted during their "open enrollment" if I was never informed of the changes????

What legal recourse do I have now?
