: Thank you for your comments. I can happily report that CobraServ finally received the check three weeks after I sent in the payment. The postmark showed I mailed it out within the grace period, and CobraServ reinstated my insurance. Thank you all again for your comments.
: Many toimes in the past I have said send all COBRA commuications via certified mail, RRR. I say this because $4 in postage is cheaper than the legal fees you will have to pay to get your coverage reinstated.
: There is a mehtod I cna argue to get it reinstated but it will be very expensive.

: : I am a temp employee and have no health benefits of my own. When my husband divorced me last April I went on Cobra through his employer. I have major health problems, but as long as I had Cobra, I at least had coverage. Last week I received a letter informing me that Cobra was terminated because they did not receive my payment. I sent out not one, but two payments to cover the months of April and May, but they haven't received them. My check was not cashed, and I have no proof that I sent them out. I would never allow my insurance to be paid late due to my health issues. I have offered to resend the check, wire money to them, etc. but they refuse to reverse the termination. Cobra must see a papertrail and I don't know what to do. I can't live without health insurance. Do you have any ideas?
