I was terminated in December. I Paid one months premium of coverage to PAYCHEXX which is who my small employer uses for their HR functions. I got a statement of coverage notice stating that my COBRA enrollment started Jan1 and ended 31. I got a job starting Feb.1 The problem is I had new surgrey and was going to PT for months. MY PT company tells me that my old insurance company denied the claims because they were never notified of my cobra election and that I was never re-enrolled or continued. Who should I be harassing on this. My former employer or PAYCHEX. I am thinking I need to get a lawyer because somewhere between the two of them they dropped the ball. When I call one they tell me to call the other, and vice-versa. PAYCHEX tells me they sent my employer a credit for the premium I paid them. HELP!
