Here is my own experience dealing with that very issue.. no they don't 'cancel' your coverage during the grace period... However, they also won't process any claims during that time until you get caught up with your payments... And you'll probably have to file any claims your self. It's a grace period only so you do not lose your coverage, but if you don't pay them for that time period then you aren't covered for it either...
I got into the mess becuase I Was on a trip and had my aunt send in my payment for me. Only she didn't fill in the payto correctly and so the payment didn't get credited to my insurance... so I was one-month behind for almost 6 months before we (me and the insurance co) got it straightened out... It was a pain in the butt as I have a medical condition that freq doc visits. So make your payments ontime! And send them via a method that you can get proof that they received the payment, you need a tracking number. In Texas, payment is considered made the date of the postmark on the envelope... so I always get a receipt and a tracking number (I send my payment signature required too), it costs more to mail this way... but I have proof of payment that way.

: Then I understand I make my payments by the first of each month, but actually I have a 30 day grace period to make the payment.
: My qustion is:
