Once an employee is covered by the group health plan, then they would be eligible for COBRA if their coverage ends. COBRA allows you to continue the coverage that you had on the day before the day of the qualifying event. So if I got coverage today, then quit tomorrow, I could get COBRA, even tho I was only on the plan for one day.
