My father is out on Workmens Comp. He got a letter on 6-24-04 that his employment was terminated in Feb. 2003 (last year) and COBRA should have started 3-1-03. But since they made a mistake and didnt tell him in 2003. They will be KIND and not charge him from 2003 but starting this month. Also, oooppps you only have 2 months left of COBRA.
If I read the COBRA law correctly it states that coverage begins at the lastest date.. either when the qualifying event happens (3-01-03) or when you are notified which wasn't until last week and a year later. Should I get an attorney?
