My husband passed 3 mo ago. The company is headquartered in MA but I was covered under CalCobra as the company has fewer than 20 employees, and I live in CA. The company told me that my health ins. grp. needed to have 3 members to constitute a group for coverage. Two have left so I am the only one. I was told my provider might or might not find out. (The MA employes are apparently covered under another health care provider). I have asked the company for information and assistance but they are ignoring my requests. What responsibility does the company have to facilitate my being covered under CalCOBRA or COBRA and what are my options?
