Here's a question for anyone who knows:

Let's say I leave a job assignment through which I have health coverage. My plan says that if I am not reassigned to another job with the same company within 30 days, my coverage ends. Within the time I finished my assignment (say 6/15) and today (7/14), I incur medical expenses. The employer never sends me any sort of COBRA notice. a) Is that a problem for the employer? and b) if they subsequently send me COBRA notice and I elect COBRA, will it be retroactive to the day my plan sponsored insurance ended? Thanks in advance.
