Uninsurable dependants
I am transitioning out of the US Army under normal and honorable conditions. I have a son who has cerebral palsy as well as chronic lung disease due to premature birth. In addition, my wife has Van Wildebrans disease which is a clotting disorder (this has never affected her medically but is a disqualifier for most insurers). We have tricare until I am discharged in July. I have a small business that I will be operating after discharge and have no insurance plan set up. There are only three employees including myself. Would you recommend COBRA for me and my family? If so, when is the best time to contact tricare about continuation of benefits?
